Welcome

This is the homepage for Suture Lab, an independent research group affiliated with the STEM Research Academy at Brooklyn College. Most projects are completed by collecting original data, and frequently utilizes and builds upon the LLS Method or Ammodata, two open-source resources for paleontological researchers to conduct science with minimal access barriers.

Suture Lab fully engages with paleontology's rich tradition of mentorship, including high school and undergraduate coauthors on papers, research posters, and conference presentations and helping emerging scientists begin building their CV. In addition to attending weekly seminars on paleontology (usually lasting no more than an hour), students are instructed in the measurement and collection of paleontological data, most frequently on ontogenetic development of ammonoid cephalopods (although we do have non-ammonoid projects!)

Participation in the group is open to any students our PI has worked with via the College Now program, but is open to other studens interested in remote paleobiological and paleoceanographic research. Please use the contact page if you have any questions!
